The Tamil Nadu Engineers Forum (TEF) inaugurated 2025 with a highly successful Inaugural and Technical Symposia on January 8, 2025, at the Al Hashemi Grand Ballroom, Radisson Blu, Salmiya. The event gathered leading industry professionals, renowned speakers, and engineers to engage in discussions centered around innovation and entrepreneurship.
The evening commenced with the registration session at 5:30 PM, followed by a formal welcome address from event anchors Engr. Gem Prasanna and Engr. Middleton. The event began with a rendition of "Tamilthaai Vaazhthu," fostering a sense of unity and cultural pride among attendees. This was followed by a safety moment and Thirukkural shared by Er. KalaiArasan and Er. Maniyarasu, emphasizing the importance of safety in the workplace. Er. Arun Golden, the Treasurer of TEF-2025, extended a warm welcome to sponsors, guests, and members, setting the tone for a successful evening.
The Presidential address was delivered by Mr. RAJA, TEF-2025 President, who emphasized the importance of continuous professional development and reaffirmed the organization’s commitment to fostering engineering excellence. Mr. RAJA also outlined upcoming initiatives, including special events to commemorate TEF’s 26th anniversary.
The event featured three key technical sessions:
- Bouncing Back from Failures: The Power of Consistency for Entrepreneurs – Mr. Mohan, CEO of IPPO Pay, delivered an insightful session on resilience and the importance of consistency in entrepreneurship, drawing from his own experiences of overcoming business challenges.
- Compressor Seal Solutions – New Technologies – Ms. Farah Elderbi, Director of Business Development at Eagle Burgmann, discussed cutting-edge innovations in compressor seal technology, highlighting their role in improving operational efficiency and reliability across industrial sectors.
- Aryabhata to Aditya L1: ISRO’s Memorable Journey – Ms. Kalpana Arvind, Former Associate Director at ISRO, provided an inspiring account of India’s space exploration journey, from the launch of Aryabhata to the recent success of the Aditya L1 mission.
In line with its commitment to excellence, TEF also announced upcoming events: the 9th Engineering Excellence Awards and the 16th Technological Innovations Conference & Exposition, both scheduled for October 9, 2025. Additionally, TEF proudly celebrated its distinction as the only ISO-certified non-profit engineering organization in the region, reinforcing its commitment to quality, safety, and professionalism.
A significant highlight of the evening was the launch of the TEF Kuwait Mobile App, which is designed to enhance communication and collaboration within the engineering community. Attendees were encouraged to explore the app’s features, which will promote networking and active engagement among members.
A special felicitation ceremony honored the esteemed Guests of Honor: Mr. Mohammed Sulman Al Refai, Mr. Jasem Al Nori, Mr. Sabah Al-Shammary, Mr. Rabih Abdul Qader, and Shri Manasa Raj Patel, IFS, First Secretary of the Indian Embassy in Kuwait. The Chief Guest, Er. Kalpana Arvind, along with Guest Speaker Mr. Mohan of IPPO Pay and Distinguished Speaker Ms. Farah Elderbi, were also felicitated for their invaluable contributions.
The evening concluded with a gracious vote of thanks delivered by Engr. Kapil, acknowledging the efforts of sponsors, speakers, and attendees. A networking dinner provided an excellent opportunity for guests to connect and engage in further discussions about the themes of innovation and professional growth.
